Florida ASA in conjunction with ASA National Headquarters and the International Softball Federation 
is proud to present your opportunity to qualify for the 2010 16U  World Cup Games
 to be held in Plant City, Florida (December 30, 2010 – Jan 7, 2011). 
The format of the World Cup tournament is a 6-game guarantee. 
Five in pool play into a single elimination tournament. 
At least one foreign team will be in each pool.

Welcome to the new Florida ASA

We are all set for another spring and summer season of fun and challenging tournaments coming your way.  On the right of this page is a list of Championship tournaments that award a berth to various ASA National Tournaments to the winning team in each age division. Those teams earn the right to play against some of the top teams in the country.

To the left is a listing of invitational (non-qualifying) tournaments being held across the state. In these tournaments, teams have open rosters but still play regular ASA rules.

Teams now have 2 options of registering with ASA. The first option is individual player registration. This option gives each girl an I.D. card, with or without a picture along with insurance coverage through Bollinger starting at $8.00 a player. By registering each player, teams have full insurance coverage for the year.  This option is REQUIRED should you team play in ANY ASA NATIONAL Tournament.  The second option is Team registration (sanction). For a fee of $25.00, teams can sanction with ASA and play in any level of tournaments offered. Teams will be required to produce a certificate of insurance each time they play in an ASA tournament.

This year we are offering teams the opportunity to get their teams ready for the Championship season by offering “Warm-ups” prior to the first qualifying tournament scheduled for May 22 – 23rd in South Florida. The warm up tournaments are ONLY being offered in the upper age divisions.  In these warm-up tournaments, team rosters are open and players are not locked to the team’s roster until they play in their first qualifying tournaments. This is a great opportunity for teams to try out new players and players to try out new teams. These Warm Ups are just a good way to get teams ready for the 2010 season of ASA play.

Teams can register for tournaments by either emailing the tournament contact listed or going to www.registerasa.com. On the home page at the top, click on “Tournaments”  and set the association to Florida. You will then see all of the tournaments offered by Florida ASA in the state. You also can view them after you log into the site.  If your team is not registered with ASA yet, you can enter your team as an unregistered team which is listed as an option when signing up.   Also, by clicking on the small plus sign (+) you can view a list of teams signed up for that specific tournament.

There is an instruction sheet under the Forms and Document tab that give you simple instructions regarding how to register your team on this new site. Teams that want to complete individual registration of their players and obtain the  insurance coverage should use this site.  Coaches that already have insurance coverage and are looking to “sanction” their team; can download the Team Registration form located under Forms and Documents tab and mail it in with a check for $25.
